Life: Georgetown Metro Myth

georgetown

So I always thought the reason illustrious and decadent Georgetown didn’t have a metro station was to keep it that way: illustrious and decadent by preventing access from all parts of DC. But an article I found Here at We Love DC references a book called The Great Society Subway in saying that the two big reasons for a lack of metro was “existing land use and geography”. Interesting read – debunking the prevoius notion I had about the Metro.

This still doesn’t really change my view of the Metro- actually it makes me convinced the metro is very consistent with its inadequacies and shortsightedness – as our friend at UnSuck DC Metro had would agree in his post.
