The Next Food Network Crush

The torch has been passed. It has been very well known that I have had a food network crush on *gasp* Rachael Ray for a long time. But since the confirmation and continued success of her marriage, there has been that wandering eye for another food network crush. The obvious runner-up would be Giada De Laurentiis, but her ongoing successful marriage is still not good for my chances.

As the Food Network continued to pump out new show after new show, it has taken some time to get acquainted with these new hosts.

There are some new shows and hosts I don’t care to watch like:
Down Home with the Neely’s
What Would Brian Boitano Make
Healthy Appetite with Ellie Krieger

just to name a few.

But of the new shows, one caught my attention – it had an almost Alton Brown kind of science/nerdiness to it which has instant appeal with me. Aida Mollenkamp is the host of Ask Aida that shows regularly on the Food Network. She essentially answers questions from viewers about ingredients, techniques, general cooking questions, and usually has some recipes thrown in there. If she decides to go the Giada route with her clothes, she may have her own dedicated site like GiadasCleavage.com.

So congratulations Aida! and good job Food Network! my food entertainment needs have been fulfilled again!

Note: Rachael Ray had a brief extension to her title as Food Network Crush due to a segment on her day-time talk show where a guest cook shows her how to thread corn. Watch the video below and you’ll understand why.
